Felt Food Crafts ^o^

For those of you who don't already know... felt food crafts are becoming highly popular with mom's that want to provide a safe and sanitary alternative to wooden and plastic play food.  With all of the lead scares out there why would you want to take the chance?  If your crafty with a needle, or even if your not there are some very cute play foods you can make using felt, which is easy to clean and disinfect.  You can also crochet food, that is also quite cute.  In this post I will provide photos and websites of places online where you can buy play food or patterns and also where you can find some great free patterns.  Happy Crafting!

Ok, this is a video I found on YouTube.  This lady has a site called http://www.LillyBeanMarket.com where you can buy the patterns and tools you will need to finish any of her products.  This is one of her free patterns of an egg.  You can find many more extensive instructions on YouTube on her homepage LillyBeanplayfood.  I have personallly subscribed and I hope you do too.

I would suggest looking online for free patterns as well as on YouTube to find some very cute food items to make.

Here are some links to sites that sell or talk about felt play food. Some of them give away free patterns and some do not.

And finally here are some of the cutest pics of felt food I found online.

New Hair and Crochet Hook Holder

Yay, I love changing my hair!  I cut in some bangs all by myself the other day and made them swoop.

This may not sound exciting to anyone else but I have a center part and making a swoop cut that is able to stay a swoop cut... to me... is an achievement.

This is the back of my hair.  It used to be much shorter because I had a bob.  But that is a whole other post!  My hair was also blonde but that didn't work out like I wanted to because it turned out more yellow gold than blonde.  My friend Keila cut it and also re-colored it brown you can see it gently fading.  But I think it's gorgeous.

This is a shot I took just for fun.  I think it looks artsy!  You can kinda see the swoop in my hair but because of my part it looks kinda uneven.

Ok here is my daily crochet... thing.  This is the first anything I ever made... it is a crocheted crochet hook holder.  I am going to add a pocket to hold patterns, a scissor hole and a button to keep it closed but this is what it looks like now.

This will do just fine for now and this is all of the hooks that I have so far.  My friend got them for me for my birthday Nov. 13, 2009.

This is what it looks like when it is closed.  It fits in my bag perfectly.  Everyone should make one for themselves.  I hope you get inspired to make things on my page, eventually I will be putting some free patterns on here.  Tell me what you think.  Should I?
Happy Crafting!

The First Thing I Ever Made. A Scarf.

I made this scarf for my husband for his birthday it took me from November 14, 2009 - November 30, 2009.  I made it with Lion Brand Pound of Love Yarn in Denim.  It's kinda cattywampus in some spots and I hadn't really learned how to do edging yet but for a first project I think I did pretty well.  Also the Pound of Love Yarn is really comfortable to wear.  And you know the yarn lasts a long time!  I have made like 3 projects with it and I still have a good size ball left!  Well anyways here is a picture of me wearing the scarf.  Happy Crafting!

Craft Room Organization

Here are some fabulous photos of some craft rooms that I thought would easily translate into yarn storage possibilities.  I will label what I think they would be good for it I can.

First here is a slideshow of the cutest craft room I have ever seen.  It is a remodel from what the room looked like to what it looks like now.

I think these little magnetic spice containers would be great for anything from glitter to scrapbooking, and from kitty eyes to safety pins.  I have seen these many places but I can tell you they have them at the container store for sure.

Here are three good examples of yarn storage:
In the first pictures of the shelves in the closet, the cubbies can be found at IKEA.
The second picture is of a larger display of cubbies filled with yarn.
The third picture is of someones conversion of a shoe holder into a yarn holder, this would work well for an apartment.

Here is a rather unique idea... use trouser hangers to clip up your favorite fabric squares or scrapbook pages. Make sure to put them in scrapbook page protectors thought so they don't wrinkle.

Here is a shelf to display your rubber stamps for scrapbooking.

Here are some really nice pull out drawers for holding felt, paper, cardstock or anything else your heart can fancy.  These too, can be found at IKEA.

These magazine holders can be found at IKEA for 2 for 47 cents!  That's a steal!  But they are plain, and in this picture she used her favorite contact paper to dress it up and make it more crafty!  Adorable!

If you like these ideas they all can be found at Flikr.com.  Give your comments or send me your photos of your own craft rooms and I will post them for everyone to see!
Happy Crafting!

A Crocheted Cat Outfit

Here is a cute cat sweater I am making for my cat Pepper.  She unlike many cats will allow me to dress her up but I dare not put a hat on her... oh no... she would probably kill me!  I love the way pink and white look together so I am using them to make stripes because I had some left-over from a project I did.  I am not following a pattern I am making it up as I go increasing as I need to, to make it fit my cat properly.  One day I'll try using a pattern for something but for now winging in is working out just fine!  I am not finished with it yet so I will post a picture of it on Pepper when I am.

This is my baby Pepper!

She love's her outfits, you can tell by the look on her face.
